It has been pretty nice outside lately, around 60-70F. Yesterday, Skye, Heather, Rose, and I cleaned the chicken house. Several of us tied hankies over our noses to keep out the dust. We put several wheelbarrows full of the chicken house scrapings on the side of the garden that we plan to plant corn and squash in next month.  After we cleaned the chicken house, we did some orchard work and Skye and I also planted lettuce, peas, radishes, and carrots in the garden. Laurel also planted a blueberry plant.

Grandma’s violets are all busy blooming right now.

The fruit trees are all in bloom- peaches, pears, etc., and also the wild plums behind the pond.

As I write this, I am shaking a quart jar of cream, making butter. The cows make more cream at this time of year, so I have been making butter these past few days.

We are hoping for some new kittens coming soon, too.

Here are some more pictures of our family recently.

This is a flicker. Heather and I used Heather’s binoculars and a phone’s camera together.

Psalm 62

To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will you attack a man?
You shall be slain, all of you,
Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.
They only consult to cast him down from his high position;
They delight in lies;
They bless with their mouth,
But they curse inwardly. Selah

My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.

Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah

Surely men of low degree are a vapor,
Men of high degree are a lie;
If they are weighed on the scales,
They are altogether lighter than vapor.
Do not trust in oppression,
Nor vainly hope in robbery;
If riches increase,
Do not set your heart on them.

God has spoken once,
Twice I have heard this:
That power belongs to God.
Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy;
For You render to each one according to his work.
