The End of the Line

We rolled into Rolla, MO about 8:00 pm and after stopping at Super 8 we promptly discovered that there was a career fair going on. After 3 or 4 more hotels, we found an Econo Lodge to host us. Dad said the lady at the front desk was very friendly. After we got all settled in, we got a phone call from the front desk, advising us that our van door had been left open. Oops! We got a good night’s sleep and were refreshed in the morning. At about 7:00 am, we all went to the breakfast room, and rather took it over completely. There was another couple to share breakfast with. It did not take long to learn of our breakfast buddies recent travels across the the United States. They were a retired couple from from Frankfurt, Germany. And they spoke pretty good English, although they didn’t understand what Mom was saying about the mammoths in South Dakota. It turned out that they had called about the van door. Before long they gave us the last of their German chocolate and headed for Branson. They welcomed us to come visit if we ever went to Germany.
